Agency Fall Fest

On Saturday, our family drove up to our adoption agency's Fall Fest. It used to be the annual Halloween party, but for some reason they changed it to an Old West theme. The party is not as big as some of their other gatherings, but we have never been before. Last year we intended to go, but were iced out with terrible road conditions and tons of accidents on the highways. We opted to stay home last year instead of making the two hour drive. This year was great weather though, so we made the drive. Despite the Old West theme, kids still get to wear their Halloween costumes if they (or their parents) are so inclined.

So, here is a sneak peak of our Jonathanasaurus:
After a potluck lunch, the kids were treated to a puppet show. J was mesmerized.

On the way home, we stopped by an organic apple farm Nana and Papa's house for apple picking. Those trees are as old as I am! Jonathan had fun being lifted high by daddy.

I used the ladder and official apple picker device to get some high ones.

Yesterday, I made one of my "famous" apple pies. It took awhile to peel the apples and cut out all the brown spots/ worm holes/ general organic-ness, so Jonathan got to watch Cars while I worked in the kitchen. Pie sure was/ is good though and we still have a few apples left too. :)
