To conclude our GCA, we spent two wonderful days at Disneyland and California Adventure with a park hopper pass. Took time out each afternoon to return to the hotel for naps, which helped tremendously, especially since we stayed out fairly late each night to make the most out of our time. Despite mom's neck brace and continued neck pain, she was able to go on most of the rides the kiddos went on, which is pretty much all we did anyway. I was able to sneak away to do a few adult roller coasters with Fast Passes. My favorite Disney coaster is not at either park in CA though, so although they were all good and fun, they just weren't the same. :) (I heart the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, with Aerosmith jammin' through the ride.)After the Disney weekend, we had one more day in CA before our late night flight. We spent it shopping at Trader Joes and the Farmer's Market/ Grove. Marc was able to get away from R.A. training to meet us before our flight. Good thing he did, because even with his help, managing all our luggage, two car seats and the kiddos from the rental car return, into the airport was a lot of work. Late night flights with two toddlers are not such a good idea, but we made it home.
So overall, the GCA was a good time, just slightly tainted. :( The wonderful news is that when mom saw an orthopedic specialist a few days after we were all back in our respective homes, she was told she did not have to wear the neck brace, as that doctor did NOT see the compression fractures! He said ERs tend to be overly cautious with treatment like that, but he has reviewed thousands of x-rays, and in his opinion, the vertebrae in mom's neck were fine. She still had some lingering pain though and is seeing a physical therapist for that. (Can we get an Amen!!!!)
The End of the Great California Adventure
Now for the photo dump. :)
