Difficult Decision

Last month, I made a very difficult decision to re-home our large tabby, Tiger.

He had been having increasing and escalating behavioral problems that we just couldn't get him to stop doing no matter what.

It was an extremely rough few weeks while I contemplated how re-homing him would affect our family. Tiger had been with us since he was a kitten. He was always very friendly and tolerated toddler loving so well. It was just those few behaviors that were a factor.

There is slightly more to it to complicate things, but I will leave it at that.

Tiger went to a safe place, a no-kill shelter. He was reportedly adjusting very well, quickly becoming an ambassador lap cat. Also, there is already a family interested in adopting him as well. (They contacted me with questions about his history.)

Our other kitty, Maia, has stayed home with us, and other than mewing more than she used to, (which is not saying much, she used to be mostly silent) seems to have adjusted. Jonathan did not seem to question saying good-bye to Tiger either. :(
