Recent Outings

Since we have been home from vacation, day to day life has been fairly steadily filled with activities. We started swim lessons again which J still likes (except for yesterday for some reason he would only cling to me and refused to do any of the skills.) We are also still working on the yard, which we are hoping to have mostly completed by the end of this summer.

A few Saturdays ago, we had a playdate/ outing to the zoo with M and W. The giraffes are this zoo's most famous animals.

We also met up with A and K and a few other agency families while we were there. Here is a pic of the three boys and their mamas! They are all within 3 months old of each other! (J is the oldest.)

Also, last week we had C's best man visit us with his family for a few days. It was the first time we had seen him since our wedding 7 years ago. I had never met his wife and girls as they couldn't make it out to our wedding. It was a fun two days. The girls (5 and 10 y.o.) LOVED J. They loved to play with him and were a big help. Miss R, the 5 y.o., always wanted to help me pick out J's outfits for the day. So much fun!

While they were visiting, we drove to the top of Pikes Peak, the only mountain over 14,000 feet in Colorado that allows you to drive up. Here is a little American Pop Culture trivia for those of you who don't know: After she visited the summit of Pike's Peak and saw the view, Katherine Lee Bates penned the words to America the Beautiful.

It was chilly up there! Hence the sweatshirts on J and I. :)
