Home Study

We had our first meeting with the social worker for our Adoption Home Study yesterday afternoon. It went well, I guess. I just find the whole process of trying to prove we will be good parents nerve racking. I feel like even the littlest things- that make us human- will be analyzed to see if we "pass."

Almost all the other documents needed to complete our application have now been submitted. We are both still waiting on our health care appointments for a physical though.

We are now signed up for the Core Training that the State of Colorado requires. We will be taking the Core Training class through our agency and supplementing it with additional classes. Once we finish those 20 hours and our home study is completed, we will just be waiting for our turn to be referred a child.

Our next home study appointment is next week. Hoping to have it finished by mid-March and the required pre-adoption training finished by the end of April. That would mean we would be eligible for referral starting in May, though of course we are at the bottom of the list. Just marking time and completing the process step by step.
